To the left you will see the rubric used to rate daily participation. Daily participation is broken into 10 specific behavioral and performance standard. The first seven standards are expected daily. The last 3 standards are specific to the day's lesson.
Rating:
Students are rated in each category on the following scale.
Exams are given at the conclusion of each unit and are designed to determine the level of understanding a student achieved as it relates to strategy, techniques, and rules of the given activity.
Written Assignments are sometimes assigned in lieu of exams. These assignments are usually fitness related (diet analysis, pulse rate monitors, fitness product comparisons,....).
Skills testing takes place at the conclusion of each unit. The actual skills test is used as a drill
when the skill is introduced. This way a students initial performance level can be observed and
the students are given an opportunity to practice the testing procedure.
The senior project involves each senior developing a personal fitness plan. The project involves
the development of several personal fitness goals, identifying and generating a list of resources
that can be utilized, a written description of the specific activities and strategies to be used, and
how each goal will be evaluated.
